How to Lead a Bible Group That People Actually Enjoy Attending

Most Bible groups start with the best intentions.

Someone opens their home.
Or gather in the church.
The Bible is opened.

Do I need a theology degree?

No. You need a love for the Word of God, and a  love for people.

So I need to be an extrovert?

No, introverts and extrovers alike are equally great at running a small group. What matters is that you love God and love people, and want to make a safe place where the group can grow together as disciples of Jesus.

What if I am a pastor with a theological education. Is this system to simple for me?

So who am I?

I’m a currently pastoring two churches in Norway,  and the Bible group time is honestly the best time of the week.

I have earlier spent decades teaching and training leaders—both in the local church and in academic settings. 

I hold a BA in Theology, and an MA and PhD in New Testament, and was a NT university professor for six years.

But what matters most is simple:

I love Bible groups.

I’ve seen what makes Bible-centered groups come alive.

And I believe Bible-focused small groups is more important than ever for every local church.
